Grains of Paradise
GRAINS OF PARADISE are not actually a true pepper, they are the seeds of the melegueta pepper, an African fruit that is a member of the GINGER and CARDAMON family. The West African coast became known as the Grain Coast because grains-of-paradise were traded there. The taste is fiery with flavours of BLACK PEPPER, cardamom and lemon. Try grinding it, mix it with crushed garlic and then rub it on meat before roasting.
